The shipping cost is missing. What should you check before ordering?
You have found the item you want overseas, but the delivery price is still missing after adding it to the cart. The listed product price may fit your budget while the cost of getting it to you remains unclear. This guide shows where to look, what to ask the supplier and how to read the reply. Confirm shipping, then add it to the estimate to set a delivery budget.

Check which destination the displayed price covers
Look for Shipping, Delivery or International orders information as well as the product page. If the cart lets you select a destination country, select your actual country before relying on the displayed amount. A figure shown before that selection does not establish the cost of delivery to you.
Read the conditions attached to “Free shipping,” including countries, minimum spend and eligible products. If you cannot tell whether it covers domestic delivery only or delivery to your country, ask the shop before confirming the order.
Ask with the product, quantity and destination together
Include the product link, necessary colour or model specifications, quantity and destination country. Ask whether the price depends on the delivery area. You can start with country, city and postcode, then follow the supplier's instructions if a full address is required for an accurate quote.
Replace details in brackets before sending. This example uses Japan as the destination; change that to your own country. An individual product link helps both sides refer to the same item.
Subject: Shipping quote to Japan Hello, I would like to buy [quantity] of this item: [product URL and any colour/model details] Could you confirm shipping to [city/postcode], Japan? Please let me know the shipping cost, available delivery methods, and whether taxes or clearance charges are included. Thank you.
Read shipping separately from other possible charges
Check the delivery leg covered, currency and quantity in the reply. Establish whether the amount is shipping alone or a total including the goods. A confirmed shipping price does not by itself establish that taxes and payments to the carrier are included. Ask which costs the supplier includes and which you may need to pay separately.
If you want alternatives, ask for lower-cost and faster options. Where useful, check tracking, insurance coverage, reporting deadlines and premiums, and whether stronger packaging is available at extra cost. If you need the item for a particular date, ask about dispatch and estimated arrival, then choose using the quoted conditions and costs.
Decide whether the purchase fits once the answers are clear
List the goods, confirmed shipping, provisional taxes or other costs, and any unanswered items. This makes it easier to see what is still needed before deciding. Leave unresolved costs marked as pending and check the quote's expiry. If you change the quantity, ask for delivery pricing on that basis.
If coordinating the emails is difficult, send PORTLETTER the product link, necessary specifications, quantity and reply email. We check delivery conditions and costs by email and assemble a provisional total including the goods. The initial enquiry, basic research and estimate are free. Shipping eligibility needs checking, and an enquiry alone is not an order.
